About Melina
Melina Deya is a Puerto Rican fashion, editorial, and commercial photographer based in Miami, Florida. With more than 20 years of experience, she creates distinctive, story-driven photography for fashion brands, magazines, advertising campaigns, and creative agencies.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Melina developed her visual language through the island’s vibrant color, texture, and culture. Her work is rooted in storytelling and explores the emotional possibilities of photography through cinematic composition, light, color, and an editorial sensibility.
Based in Miami, Melina has built an extensive career spanning fashion, lifestyle, editorial, portrait, and still-life photography. Her experience extends beyond the camera into creative direction and production, allowing her to approach projects with an understanding of the entire image-making process, from concept and pre-production through shoot execution and final delivery.
Her personal and editorial work often explores themes of nostalgia, transformation, identity, vulnerability, and human connection. Whether creating a fashion editorial, commercial campaign, or conceptual portrait, Melina approaches each project with the goal of creating imagery that feels considered, emotionally resonant, and visually distinctive.
